Senior Pastor: The Rev. Jonathan Tait
Pastor Jonathan started at St. Andrew’s in September of 2013 after having served churches in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and most recently Campbellville, Ontario. He has a passion for worship and preaching and loves to see God’s Word come alive as people live out their calling in Christ together. In his downtime Jonathan enjoys reading and fishing as well as watching hockey, NFL football and baseball. Jonathan’s family is his greatest joy. He and his wife Kate are blessed with two beautiful young children, Jeremiah and Ellianna. Jonathan has many favourite scripture passages; one that inspires his vision for ministry is Ephesians 4:11-12; “The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Jonathan enjoys conversation over a cup of coffee and welcomes you to drop by his office to say hello and introduce yourself.
Office Administrator – Julie Parsons
Kids’ Ministry Coordinator – Emily Fern
Community Missions Coordinator – Emily Fern
When St. Andrew’s decided to become engaged in community outreach Emily immediately stepped forward to lead and develop this program. Emily grew up at St. Andrew’s and feels that the church has provided her with a lifelong faith foundation, as well as a supportive Christian “family” over the years. Emily’s passion and dedication for working with families extends into her work as a paediatric occupational therapist in the Durham Region. Emily works closely with families and children of all ages who have medical, developmental, physical or neurological disabilities. As an adoptive mother to a special needs child herself, Emily has made it a priority that the mission programs here at St. Andrew’s are accessible, accommodating and engaging for all. Emily has a heart for missions and when you don’t find her downstairs in the Sunday school rooms or serving folks in our Community Outreach program, she’ll likely be on one of her yearly medical mission trips to Peru. In addition to assisting families with groceries and toiletries, Emily is able to connect families with appropriate community services and provide sympathetic advice. She has organized back-to-school programs, a literacy support program and a life skills/fellowship program for our community guests. Emily strives to serve God with energy, love, kindness and compassion in all that she does here at St. Andrews.
